Demonstrating a flaw in design, someone pressed his hands against the building's steel skin and left his mark. Incidentally, residents living near the concert hall complained to Gehry that they were experiencing extreme glare from the building. In some case the sunlight was reflected in concentrated form--as it would be in a parabolic mirror--causing nearby apartments to heat up and air conditioning bills to climb. A solution was demanded by Disney Hall neighbors. In response, Gehry hand the building's steel shell dulled somewhat, thereby reducing the glare.
