Roanoke, VA. The Art Museum of Western Virginia. This museum was under construction when I visited. It's designed by LA architect Randall Stout, who was once apprentice to Frank Gehry. Seeing the building for the first time is pretty surprising. In this struggling old railroad town, it's pretty anomalous. As I approached it, I actually thought it was a Gehry creation.
